Golden Butterflies

Want a really really quick and easy yet classy looking card.  Well today’s card is one to try.  Except for the fact that I heat embossed the sentiment in gold embossing powder, I think this card took me all of about 5 mins.  From concept to completion.  IMG_1171

What’s the key to a quick yet classy card?  Washi tape and puches.  In this case I used Gold Watercolor Wonder Designer Washi Tape to create the border.  Seriously, does it get any faster than washi tape. Even if you put it on crooked it comes right off and resticks.

Let’s talk punches.  Two butterfly punches, two pieces of scrap paper – I use brushed gold and very vanilla – and some rhinestones.  I would have used pears but I have used pearls a lot lately and wanted a little change up.

So, what do you think.  While I chose to heat emboss my sentiment you wouldn’t have to.   You could use all kinds of color combos too.  As for the sentiment I chose Congratulations because it’s graduation season, but this could be Thinking of you, With Sympathy, Happy Birthday…..

Thanks for stopping by today.

  1. So pretty! I love all this gold and Vanilla. I love the embossed image – no reason to add color. 🙂

  2. I love this card. I have washi tape but have never used it. I like the idea of using it as the border. I will definately have to make this card.

  3. Very nice. I love the simplicity, elegance and versatility.
