Welcome to the May Pals Blog Hop. This is the first hop on our new day – the 2nd Wednesday of the month. Before we celebrate the release of the new Stampin’ Up! catalog next month, we want to take time to say goodbye to our favorite retiring products. This month we are showcasing projects that feature stamps or accessories that are retiring along with the 2013-14 Idea Book & Catalog at the end of May.
You may just be starting the blog hop or may have come from Diane Roberts at Score at Four and a Quarter on the Pals Hop. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog.
Can you spot all the retiring products used in this project?
Field Flowers stamp set. This set is so versatile. I didn’t purchase it very long ago, holding off for who knows what reason. Then as what usually happens, I see someone else use it so beautifully. I know I’m going to miss it.
Square Lattice embossing folder – I mentioned in a previous post that the retirement of this embossing folder is very distressing to me. I love the touch of texture it provides, without any kind of shape or design. No arrows or chevrons, no fans, no circles. Just texture. I’ll be honest, it’s not going in my retired pile, but staying in with the rest of my embossing folders I reach for until something else as perfect as it is becomes available.
I didn’t want to make this post all about what is going away. Let’s also celebrate some new items coming available on June 2.
New Blendablity markers – I used the three – dark, med and light – Rich Razzleberry markers to color the flower. These markers are not water based but are alcohol based, adding rich vibrant color to your projects. They are designed to blend in with each other allowing for amazing shading. This was my first attempt in using them. I know I’m going to be practicing with them and sharing them a lot!!
Blackberry Bliss card stock – How about that beautiful color on the card base. It is our new Blackberry Bliss In Color cardstock. I really like how it pairs with Rich Razzelberry, being just dark enough to set off the polka dot paper.
Envelope Punch Board – This card measures 5 1/2 x 5. An interesting shape and with my envelope punch board I can create the perfectly sized envelope to fit. Thank you Envelope Punch Board!!
Thank you for stopping here on your blog hop. The next stop is Kelly DeTommaso at Kelly’s Creative Corner on the Pals Blog Hop! Thanks for visiting and I hope to see you next month.

I just got my blendabilities on Monday and played with them on Tuesday morning before going to work. I found them very easy to work with. I’ll be making lots of projects with these 🙂 Great card Lynn!
Very pretty. Love the gold thread accent. I’ve been practicing…ok playing…with my blendabilities. Not quite ready to do a card until I get better at it.
