Pool Party Thoughts and Prayers

Today’s card is another example of an easy to create, yet pretty card.  I was going to say beautiful but didn’t want to sound pretentious.  : )Design by Lynn Kolcun Images © Stampin’ Up www.AverysOwlery.comA co-worker recently lost a family member.  I thought I had some sympathy cards in my card stash that I keep for just this purpose.  I did, but they were a card I did last winter and the scene looks like snow.  You can see that post here.  I’m all done with snow for this year and really really didn’t want to give that one to my friend.  But, it was late and I needed to go to bed.  This card was another 5 min beauty.

I used the flowers from Love and Sympathy, stamping some full strength and some stamped off.  I added a couple in coastal cabana for a little depth.

The sentiment, do you recognize it?  I gave a hint in the title.  It’s from Thoughts and Prayers and the stamp actually says Thinking of You…Please know that I care, all on one stamp.  I didn’t want all of that on the front, or really all of it on the inside either.  I very carefully used my baked brown sugar ink pad to only ink the top or bottom half of the stamp, cleaning carefully in between so that I ended up with a front of card and an inside of card sentiment.

Here’s a secret.  I’m horrible at stamping straight and I’m lazy about getting out my stamp-a-ma-jig to line it up.  I originally was going to stamp the Thinking of You on the card face.  I did stamp it on the card face – crookedly.  Sigh.  And of course, I had already done all the stamping at the bottom.  No problem, I cleaned, inked and stamped again, then did what I should have done to begin with and punched it out with the decorative label punch.  Now that I can get straight.

Thanks for visiting today.

Lynn
