Do you know ….. What Stamp-a-stacks and biscuits have in common?

The other day, I was hosting a Stamp-a-stack at my home.  We have lunch during our stamping days because stamping makes you hungry.  I was serving chicken salad with beer bisquits. If you don’t know what beer bisquits are, read on.  Yes, they are as good as they sound.  Well I went to reach for my cupcake holders only to find that I was out. This wasn’t good as it was 10 mins before the ladies were to arrive and I’m pretty sure my husband would never be able to find cup cake liners in the store. I have a baking stone cup cake pan and while I love it, biscuits tend to stick and tear when I’m trying to remove them without liners.  But wait, I’m a crafter, and a paper crafter at that.  I pulled out my parchment paper, and my circle framelit dies and found the one that would fit perfectly in the bottom of each cup.  Folded the paper and ran it through the big shot. Just so you know, it WORKED GREAT!!!!.  See

So what are beer bisquits.  Well you take

  • 1 can or bottle of beer of your choice – 12 oz
  • 4 TBLS Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 4 Cups Bisquick mix

Stir together and bake in muffin tin for 10-12 mins at 450 degrees.  The beer you chose will affect the flavor, but trust me they are all good.  The beer actually gives them a yeast like flavor.  These have been a family favorite since I was a kid.

Want to see what we made for the stamp-a-stack?  All the card designs selected by my group from a whole lot of options.  The finalists were all CASEd from others, two from Mary Fish (Www.StampinPretty.com) and one from Brian King (www.StampwithBrian.com).  Another from LeAnn Pugliese at www.weinklings.blogspot.com as well as one from Shauna Gaff at www.Stressfreestamping.blogspot.com.  Thanks to all of these talented artists for their unknown contribution. The cards, and the biscuits were a big hit.

  5. Another “circle punch” note. I used the 2 and 2 1/2 punches to make canning jar labels. Turned out lovely!!
