Last month, my sister-in-law mentioned she would like some thank you cards to ‘come’ from my nephew, Riley. Now, Riley is 4 so I’m pretty sure all thanking being done here is by his mother but she wanted them to reflect Riley, not her, and to be used to thank folks for things given to or for Riley. Make sense? She told me his favorite color is red, and he loves Lightning McQueen from Disney’s Cars. Ok!
Obviously I had to use Real Red and Whisper White. I searched the internet for images of Lightning McQueen, this one was my favorite. I printed it on white card stock and then snipped them out, about 35 of them. Yes, my had was tired, but they were a pretty easy snip. I wanted something under the car, like tire tracks or something.
I ended up using the swoosh fromSheltering Tree stamped in Basic Gray. Pretty cool huh. The Thank you is from Watercolor Thank-You. It couldn’t be too sophisticated or fancy since it’s for a 4 year old. Stamped in Real Red, the curves of the font compliment the curves of the car and the swoosh. I purposely left it blank on the inside for all the great things Riley will have to say.

I made some little notebooks with lightning McQueen, but I took the lazy way out and cut the cars out from Cars giftwrap that I bought. Plan to make more for craft fairs. They were loved on!
Love that font for a 4-year-old thank you. Great idea! Love the card, I hope Riley and his Mum were pleased too.
