In these times of Covid – 19 when we can’t always comfort those we care about with a warm hug, sometimes paper hugs are the next best thing. I made this card for my friend Michele when her 17 yr old cat, Tiger passed away.

Paper Hug Tips
Tiger was a yellow striped cat, as you would expect with that name so I wanted my card for Michele to reflect that. I punched Bumblebee cardstock with the cat punch and then used the edge of the bumblebee stamp pad to add stripes.

I played around with a lot of layouts and elements for my card until I finally landed on this one. To create the pot of succulents I used the small label die in the lower right corner from the Simply Succulent then cut it in half.

What cat or kitten in their heyday doesn’t love string to play with. The circle stamp from Comfort and Hope reminded me of a string so I used that to create my background and on the inside sentiment.

There are so many opportunities to send a paper hug, not just for a loss but for happy events as well. I hope you will consider making your own paper hug card as well.
