How common it is for all of us to get stuck in a rut, doing the same things over and over again. Once you realize you are in one though, it is time to mix things up and do something different. Pocket Cards are just perfect for that and so much easier to create than you might have thought.

Thanks go to Candy Ford at StampCandy.com for the reminder on how fun Pocket cards are to make. I saw one of hers on a zoom call recently. I created this pocket card from leftover pieces from the February Paper Pumpkin Kit, but it is easy enough to make this out of any cardstock starting with a few alterations to a standard size card base of 5-1/2 x 8-1/2.
Pocket Card Cuts and Folds
- Cut cardstock at 5 x 8-1/4″
- Scored on the long side at 1/4″ and 4-1/4
- Fold on 1/4″ score line and add tear tape. Add tear tape to bottom as well
- Fold on 4-1/4 score line and press where the tape is located to hold it tight and there is your Pocket Card.
- Cut white cardstock at 3-3/4 x 5-1/4

You don’t want a plain white cardstock for the inside of the pocket so dress it up with a corner punch like Stampin’ UP!s Trio Corner Punch. Use both the cutout and the corner rounding punch.

I used a handheld hole punch (not from SU) to create my ribbon pull slot and doubled a piece of baker’s twine to go in it. Stamp a sentiment and add coordinating stamped or cut-out images and your inside is all set. I hope you will try your had at a pocket card soon.
