Who doesn’t love a fun fold card, especially an easy one? I have to say this is my go-to for ‘fun’ folds for that very reason. Today I paired it with the Celebrate Sunflowers Stamp/die bundle. I don’t have any inside information on whether this stamp set will be around in the new annual catalog coming out in May but just in case it does retire I wanted to give it some final love before it goes. The retired list will be out by the end of this month so we will know soon enough.
Sunflower Fun Fold tips
You can easily make a standard size card base into a fun fold with one additional score. Cut Cardstock at 4-1/4 x 11. Score at 5-1/2 and 2-3/4″ Fold middle as normal and fold short side back.
You can and should be creative with how and where you use your dies. For example, use one of the Hippo & Friends dies to cut out the sunflower. I will probably never use the dies for creating hippos but I do really like all those included labels.
You don’t have to use the entire sentiment on a stamp. The full sentiment used here says Just wanted to send some Happy Thoughts your way. I used a Versamark Marker (not from SU, I think I purchased mine from Amazon) and colored only the Happy Thoughts portion of the sentiment, stamped it on Designer Series Paper, then powdered and heated with white embossing powder. The same technique can be used with a colored marker.
You can have any color of baker’s twine you want by just coloring your white baker’s twine with markers, sponge daubers, or Stampin Blends. Never be without coordinating twine again. I hope you will try your hand at one of my favorite Fun Fold designs too.
