Best Thing About PaperCrafting….

You might think the best thing about being a papercrafting would be the paper.  Paper is a must that is for sure, but it isn’t the best.

You might think it is the colors and ink.  Nope wrong again.  Although you can’t really be a paper crafter without color and ink.

You might think it is the stamps and dies and punches.  All good guesses but sadly, no.

The Best Thing About PaperCrafting is….The Friends you make, the community you share, and the joy you gain from being a part of it.

This past weekend I was privileged enough to be able to travel to Atlanta Ga for two fabulous events.  First I attended my good friend and Stampin’Up! upline, Brian King’s event called ‘Brian’s Fall Stamp Along’. 135 Stampin Up Demonstrators gathered for a fun-filled day of games, prizes, demonstrations and Make and Take projects along with getting to see all my Stampin’ Up! friends.

Here are some of the items I came home with (you never leave empty-handed)

With the exception of the notepad and pencil case these items were all on the table at Brian’s even when we walked in.  The shot glass that says Brian’s Stamp along is for holding your glue bottle while you are using it….keeps the glue at the tip.  Genius and so cute. The pillow box, lovely on it’s own with the magnolia held a lapel pin saying Brian’s Fall Stamp Along.  We put all kinds of pins on our lanyards when we attend Stampin Up events.  The notepad and pen case are to carry in my purse to take down information from potential paper crafters I meet while I’m out and about.  I can tuck business cards inside to hand out.

Speaking of Brian, here is a picture of him, with my dear friend Sheryl who is also on my Avery’s Owlery team, and of course me.  The smiles on our faces say it all.  Brian has been a constant inspiration to me on my Stampin Up journey, pushing me when I needed to be pushed. I love him for that.  Sheryl joined my team in Feb and I have already learned so much from her.  The marketing she does for her Stampin Up business is to be envied.

Not only do we receive items from Brian, but there are other Demonstrators who made table gifts as well.  I’m a bad person and always forget about this part so I was just a receiver, not a giver this time.  But how cute are these?  Most held candy of some sort to help get us through the day.

Julie DiMatteo – you probably know her as The Paper Pixie on her blog and YouTube Channel.  She is one of my good friends and I love hanging out with her.  It is like being part of an entourage because she has people come up to her all the time asking for autographs.  Julie made dozens and dozens of these “survival kit’ boxes with two peppermints and a teeny tiny lip balm.  The top of the box says Love It, Live It, Share it.  Check out her blog at ThePaperPixie.com.

The next day we all attended a Stampin Up event called On Stage Local.  What a great day filled with demonstrations, free give aways and make and takes.  These are three of the cards I made with some of the new products being offered in the upcoming 2020 Jan-Jun Mini Catalog.

I also won a free stamp set called Under My Umbrella.  This is me with my friend and up-upline Pam Morris. Pam gave all of us in her downline a Pressed Petal journal and a set of journaling pens.  I’m so lucky to have Brian and Pam as supporters of me and my business.

All in all, it was a wonderful weekend and I can’t wait to do it again in Salt Lake next November.  It is always a great time to join Stampin Up and you could go to Salt Lake with me. You won’t regret a minute of it.  For all the details on joining Stampin Up and what that really means, click below.
