Brushed Bouquet for InKing Royalty Blog Hop

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s January 2023 Blog Hop! If your craft projects aren’t already filled with hearts, then you might be behind the eight ball. No worries – we are here to help. We are excited to share our heart-filled creations with you and hope you love them! I’m sharing a quick card using a fun technique and the Brushed Bouquet dies with Country Bouquet hearts. After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

Country Bouquet has become my go-to stamp set for Valentine’s this year but today I’ve paired it with Brushed Bouquet Dies and a fun technique on this simple card. I used the flat solid dies and an ink pad to create this look.

How to….

When you look at this card, it really is very simple. Simple easy layers and some flowers and hearts. But the real beauty of this card is the color technique I used on the flowers and leaves. First, I used the Brushed Bouquet die set from the Jan-Apr mini catalog. This is part of the Brushed Bouquet Stamp/die bundle.

There are several solid dies meant to die cut and emboss the shape of the flower of leaf. I used the two flowers in the upper left corner on my card but this technique works on all of them shown here, and probably some you have at home.

Place the die face down on your selected ink pad. I used Tahitian Tide and Granny Apple Green. Press the die into the ink pad to get good amount of ink on it. To pick up the dies, I used my reverse tweezers and kept my fingers from getting all inky. Place your dies on the cardstock you want to cut. I used Balmy Blue for the flowers and Granny Apple Green for the leaf.

Ta Da ! This is what comes out. Isn’t that awesome looking? If you want your ink to be more smooth looking you can always use a blender pen over the inked areas to smooth out the look.
