Woodland Birthday

Today’s card is for one of my staff members, Mark.  Mark is a very intelligent, quiet and unassuming person.  I wanted to make a card for him that reflected some of these qualities.  Nothing loud or boisterous would be appropriate.

MarkAbout the card
1. I used a whitewash technique on the leaves from gently falling stamp set after embossing it with early espresso first.  You’ll see more on the whitewash technique in a future post.  For these, I stamped them on pear pizzazz and then using my aqua painter painted in white craft ink inside.  Then over it again with island indigo.  I really like the effect.

2.  Wood grain embossing folder for some texture.

3.  The branch is actually some of our simply pressed clay in a die I purchased at a big box store.  I colored the clay first with early espresso re-inker and let it dry overnight.  Then I used my marker to add a little low lights.

I hope you like Mark’s card.  Love to hear you comments.
