Birthday for MoJo Monday

Today’s card was made for Dave.  Dave is one of my staff members and an awesome technician for the tools my team uses.  The best thing about Dave though is he is a great dad of three kids that he is raising on his own.  No matter if you are a man or woman, raising one child on your own can be overwhelming.  Raising three is hero status.  Oh, did I mention, they are all teenagers now?  Ok, ya, he gets like double/triple credit for that.

So Dave’s birthday is next week and here is the card I made for him.

And here is the Mojo Monday sketch it was inspired by.  About my card
This card is not overly complicated, but it does have a lot of details going on.

1.  I used the angled tag topper to create the tag focal point.  I cut the Bermuda bay cardstock to 2 inches and the Retro Fresh Designer series paper to 1.75 in to layer over it.  In order to add the tangerine ribbon I re-punched the whole with a hole puncher so.

2.  The stamp from Happiest Birthday Wishes was colored with markers in black, Bermuda bay and tangerine to give it that awesome multicolor.  I was really happy with how that turned out.  I also sponged the edges of all the circles and the DSP with tangerine.

3.  Final details.  Did you notice the washi tape on the top of the circle?  How about on the inside.  I cut the front of the card a half inch shorter and ran a piece of Retro Washi tape on it, so it would show when opened or closed.  AND, two strips on the envelop.  It really ties the whole thing together visually.

Thank you for stopping by today.  Unfortunately I’m not able for add the cool pictures with links to my Stampin’ Up! Shop as my internet connection is misbehaving right now so I’m doing this post on my iPad.  <sigh>.
