My one final father’s day card for this year is for my husband, Steve. Between us we have 6 children, three boys and three girls, three sons-in-law, one daughter-in-law and two granddaughters. We are blessed. This card is for the great Husband, Dad and Pops that he is.
It was inspired by this weeks sketch at Freshly Made Sketches. FMS140
The Happy Father’s day sentiment was cut using my newest toy, my Silhouette e-cutter. There are many e-cutters on the market, Silhouette is the one that I use and really love. I cut the layers of the sentiment out with Mossy Meadow, Lost Lagoon and Natural White. The 1.25 in burlap ribbon added a nice texture and offset the width of the new Lost Lagoon Stitched Satin. I purposely made this card without a lot of fussiness. Steve likes simple meat and potato things. The sketch was just the ticket for a card for him.
I want to wish a very Happy Father’s day to all the father’s out there.

PS – update on my Mother. She will be having surgery in July followed by radiation. So long as the tiny little spot of carcinoma cells have not already traveled to her lymph nodes, she will not have to have chemo. They are hopefull that is the case since it was caught so early. Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers.
Silhouette is the most awesome crafting tool since the die cut machines. Question–can you cut MDS files with Sil and how? TIA
Hi Marsha. I totally agree, Silhouette is the best ecutter out there. I don’t get anything from them for endorsing the product. I just love it.
Yes you can cut MDS files. You create in MDS and export as a JPEG file. Then from Silhouette you go to File-Merge and locate the jpeg file. It will bring it into your silhouette project. Use the trace function to trace the outline of your MDS. You can then change the size, or print words or designs, then cut. There are videos out on You Tube for more detailed instructions. That was the key reason I purchased the silhouette.

Praise God for the good news of your mother. I appreciate the update and will continue praying. Your card is awesome. What a nice post for your wonderful husband.
So happy to hear about your Mom! WooHoo! Prayers are a powerful tool!
Wowzers on the layers of that that sentiment – and all that texture. And thankful to hear the good news about Mom.
Love that layered sentiment!
Lynn, will keep the prayers going. I’m glad that she and her drs were able to catch this early. I know the road will still be long, but she’s got you and the stamping community behind, as well as, beside her 🙂
This is a fabulous masculine card. I so love how you did the sentiment – I really must use my Silhouette more. Hoping all goes well with your mum.
