Wedding Wishes

Today’s card is for Jamilee and Dave.  Next weekend my husband and I will be traveling to Pittsburgh, PA for the wedding of his god daughter, Jamilee, and her soon to be husband Dave.  Jamilee is a very special person.  She’s kind, caring, beautiful, loving and all around really great.  She lovingly refers to my husband as Godfather.  My husband and her father grew up together, living across the street from one another since they were 8 or so.  Ed and Joy and their 4 children are our Pittsburgh family. I was also honored to be able to create their wedding invitations.   If you would like to see the wedding invitation I created for Jamilee and Dave, scroll down.

It’s also inspired by the Freshly Made Sketches sketch challenge #139

I am loving the new Blackberry Bliss.  That rich combination of blues and reds to come up with the perfect shade of, well, Bliss.  Love it. Today I have paired it with Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla for a rich elegant feel.  The Blackberry Bliss ribbon is silky and a nice contrast to the retired woven ribbon on either side.

I used gorgeous grunge to create the ‘spots’ in the background and the Scalloped tag topper punch for the center focus.  The flowers were created using the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack, new this year, as well as the Petite Petals and the small flower from the now retired Itty Bitty Punch Pack.  To give the flowers some dimension I used the end of handle end of my paper pierce tool and pushed down on them into my paper piercing foam mat.

Til next time.

  1. Beautiful invitation! What doily stamp is that in the middle of the wording? Very pretty effect!

    • Hi rosemary. The stamp
In the middle of the invitation is the hello doily shrunk down using MDS. The full size version is on the front embossed in white and fussy cut around the image

That is one of the many great things about MDS.

  2. I love your card and invitation!

  3. Gorgeous card Lynn! The invitation is wonderful as well. I love the doily effect on the invitation.
