The 3rd of my four cards made this year in my Holiday Stamp a Stack is this card, using White Christmas stamp set. I’ve used this set a lot this fall, the trees are so versatile, makeing them fall colored, winter, or summer. Today though it was all winter.
Do you see all the snow glitter? Brian King, I’m sending this card to you this year, haha. Well, here is my trick for getting all that beautiful glitter over my entire snow bank. I stamped the trees and bear first. Then I re-stamped them on thin copy paper to create a mask. Using post-it notes, I laid it over my stamped image so when I colored my sky, using Soft Sky and Pool Party sponge daubers the snow area would stay white. I colored in the tree trunks with a crumb cake marker.
Now, what to do about getting glitter over the entire space. Glitter glue could have worked but it would not have had the texture I wanted. So here was my brainstorm. I pooled some Versamark re-inker on my silicone mat so it would stay wet. I then painted the versamark onto the bottom of my card where I wanted the snow. Added heat and stick powder and the heat gun to make it sticky, then added Dazzling Diamonds glitter and hit it with the heat gun again. The ladies in the stamp a stack thought it was awesome.
