Before and After Stamping Space

Clean and tidy.  My stamping space was not that.  Over the holidays it became a mess as I used it and used it to make things for our family and friends.  Then, because my stamping space is in my kitchen, when we had guests coming over, I had to tuck everything away, and not always neatly.  Not only that, but I had ordered a bunch of new stamps from the Occasions catalog and I had no place to put them.  What’s a stamper to do??? – Reorganize.

Then – Ok, this is embaressing.

Before

My blendabilities, in the upper left corner were basically in a wad wrapped in a rubber band, Stamp sets were everywhere, stacked and scattered, my framelits were hard to get to, even in the Stampin-Storage box.

Now – much better

After

Not only can I see all my stamp sets, but there are actually labels on the shelves for the type of stamp that goes there. Flowers, birthday, Holiday, New, Punch and Die coordinating stamps, etc.  I have a new Stampin Storage shelf for my blendabilities, see the far left cabinet.

After

And best of all, I even have empty space on the bottom for expansion.  I’m sure it will get used up at some point.  My framelit dies are in the bottom cabinet where I can look down on them and flip through the magnetic sheets without having to pull the entire box, which is really really heavy, onto the counter.  I’ve also put all of my embossing powders into plastic containers, thanks Brian King for that tip, with labels.  The last thing I did, and don’t laugh, I created an inventory sheet.  I have several big plastic tubs, and yes they are labeled, and everything that is in those tubs is listed on my inventory sheet with the tub it is in.  No more frantically looking through everything to find something.  Boy do I feel better.

  4. Wow, I wish my “mess” was as easily cleaned up as yours! I love the inventory idea – I came up with the same thought last night when I could not fnd something in my mass of boxes, even though I know I have what I wanted, I have no clue where it might be.
Lovely space and storage, though. Very jealous!
