Something Lacy for the January Pals Blog Hop

2015janhop_badge

Welcome to the first Pals Blog Hop of 2015. We hope your new year is off to a great creative start. To celebrate the start of a new Stampin’ Up! year, we are showcasing products from our newest catalog this month – the Occasions catalog. You may also see new Sale-a-bration products too. If you don’t know how to earn free Sale-a-bration products – contact your Stampin’ Up! demonstrator to learn more.

You may just be starting the blog hop or may have come from Amy Hoptay at Inking of You!. Use the full lineup below to move along from blog to blog so you see all of the new projects.

I have to say, I think this is the best Occasions Catalog ever put out by Stampin UP.  There are so so many wonderful products to choose from, not to mention the wide selection of free items in the Sale-a-bration brochure.  I’ve been working with these products since early December and I still have so many projects running through my head.  For today’s Pals Blog Hop I’ve pulled out some new items for a soft and pretty wedding card.  I was inspired by this weeks Card Concept challenge.

New Products

  • Something Lacy Stamp – page 43 of the Occasions Catalog – I stamped this background onto vellum with Versamark then heat embossed with white embossing powder. If you decide to emboss vellum, be very careful with your heat tool and hold it further away from the paper than you normally do.  Keep it moving around and around until the powder is melted.  If you hold it in one place for too long, the vellum will melt too.  Not a good look.
  • Pink Pirouette and Wild Wasabi Blendabilities – page 32 of the Occasions Catalog – I love that Blendabilities can be used to color items previously not colorable – is that a word?  Well, you know what I mean.  Never before have we been able to color the embossing, or vellum without stazon.  I added all 4 new colors to my Blendability collection.
  • Best. Day. Ever. Stamp Set – Free item with $50 purchase from Sale-a-bration flyer.  I choose to include the namesake stamp on the inside to coordinate with the Happily Ever After from Big News page 68 in the Annual Catalog.  I thought it made a nice combo saying for a new couple.

My card was inspired by this weeks Card Concept challenge.  I used the colors and the flowers as my focal point.

The next stop is Shannon K Jaramillo at Shannon Kay Paperie on the Pals Blog Hop!

Thanks for visiting and I’ll see you next month.
