Welcome to InKing Royalty’s April Blog Hop. Today we are celebrating April Showers – not only is this the season for Baby Showers and Wedding Showers, but May flowers are just around the corner, so you’re certain to see a great variety of projects along the hop.
You may have started the Blog Hop here or may have hopped over from Katie Ferguson’s blog at Cottage Paper . After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next. If you get off track at any point during the blog hop, there’s a complete list of participants at the end of this post.
One of the great things about the company I work for in my day job is that while we are a large company with about 40,000 employees across the nation, there are pockets of smaller teams and departments that operate in a way that make you feel like you have the benefits of a much smaller company. You are probably wondering what this has to do with April Showers. I’m getting there. Exectutive Leadership members (AVP and VP type folks) make a big deal out of anyone in our 500 person department celebrating the birth or adoption of a baby whether it is the employee, or their spouse. One of the executives makes a baby quilt for the newborn and they send it with some other stuff to the new parents. No gift should be without a card so I volunteered to make up Baby cards to go with all the blankets. The blankets and cards are done up ahead of time so we can send out any time, and this past week it was time to restock my Baby cards.
They all have a similar theme but are all individually unique, just like the baby’s they are celebrating. I took advantage of the Hello script thinlit from Hello You Thinlits, both the negative and the cut out, to create the Hello’s. I was totally inspired by the cards found on page 30 of the Occasions catalog. I used the Crazy About You leave and flower stamp to create background texture where I wasn’t using Sweet Dreams Designer Series Printed Paper. I also used the Baby stamp from Crazy About You too. My color choices were taken from the DSP making it easy to come up with lots of different looks.
Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you’ll hop along to the next stop on theblog hop, Pam Morris at Tap Tap Stamp. You certainly won’t want to miss any of these projects.

While you take advantage of the great sales promotions on the Retirement List and Clearance Rack, I am offering an opportunity for you to earn free product from the upcoming catalog when you place a $50+ order with me now. For every $50 order you place between now and May 31st, I will, in June, send you one of my new favorite items (value $4-6) from the new annual catalog. Since the annual catalog isn’t available yet, even to me as a demo, I can’t tell you what that item might be but you know it will be super cute.
I love how you popped the sentiments into the negatives. What great cards. Can’t wait ti try this technique!
I agree with Pam. Great idea!
These are so sweet! Any new parent would be thrilled to get one of these! And if they’re like me, they’ll save this card for their child, too!
These are wonderful, Lynn! I’m so happy to see how many cards you make for folks at work – what fun! Glad you could be a part of this fun hop!
I also agree with Pam. I want to CASE this! Great job, Lynn!
Great use of the Hello You Thinlits!
