Lots of Layers for a Birthday

My brother Pete lives out in California and his birthday was this week.  I saw this masculine birthday card on line somewhere, but unfortunately I can’t locate my source so I can’t give credit where credit is due.  I changed a few things but I’m really thrilled with the way it turned out.  Lots and lots of layers.  Brian King would be proud of me as he is the King of layers. The Banner framelits made the perfect banners.  The first version I sponged all the edges, the second version I didn’t.  I like them both but I like the one with the sponging better.  What do you think?  Leave me a comment below.  Stampin Up Big Day AverysOwlery.com

The layers go like this:Stampin Up Big Day AverysOwlery.com

  • 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 Lost Lagoon card base,
  • 5 3/8 x 4 1/8 Crumb Cake (use this layer to cut the Crumb Cake banner),
  • 5 1/8 x 3 7/8 Lost Lagoon,
  • 4 7/8 x 3 5/8 Whisper White (use this layer to cut the white banner after stamping the sentiment first),
  • 4 5/8 x 3 3/8 Early Espresso.

I used my Crumb Cake, Lost Lagoon, Sahara Sand marker to color and shade the image. I also sponged all the edges with Crumb Cake ink.  I made another version of the same card without the sponging.

Don’t forget the inside.  The stamp set, Big Day, previously available during Sale a Bration has outside and inside sentiments.
