Sometimes life gets in the way of my crafting Mojo. That certainly happened last week. I was traveling for my full time work to Las Vegas. I had planned on being super creative when I returned home but with Jet Lag and all I had nothin’. There are several options a crafter can use when this happens. Check out sketch and color challenges, review stampin blogs, go to pinterest or CASE – copy and share everything – a previous work. I kinda chose to do all of those to create my project today.
The biggest shout out goes to Katy McGloin’s card for the Pals Paper Art color challenge last week. I really loved her card so I recreated it here at home. Here is a link to Katy’s blog post. Click here. She also shows two other color options for making this card, and they are all beautiful.
I used soft Suede, Watermelon Wonder and So Saffron as my color choices. For the focal image I tore the sticky part of several sticky notes in half and placed the torn edges along the sides of a piece of whisper white to act as a mask. I stamped the image from World of Dreams in the center then used sponge daubers in Watermelon Wonder and So Saffron for the background. When the sticky notes were removed it created a framed look for the image and color.
Kinda Eclectic stamp set was used for the sun leaves and dots. I repeated those elements and added some butterflys with a pretty ‘Thank You’ from Another Thank You stamp set for the inside.
Of course the best element of this card is the pretty bow using the Watermelon Wonder dotted lace ribbon . This ribbon is wide but it is so soft and flexible and so easy to thread through a hole punched with my hand held circle punch. Tying it into a bow is a cinch.
Thanks for stopping by today. To order any of the products I used in my project, click on the pictures below or the Shop button on the menu bar above. Either of these options will take you directly to my on-line Stampin Up Store.
