Hello all. I have purchase a lot, I mean a lot, of holiday paper, stamps and embellishments. It’s high time I started using some of this even if it is only September. I will admit that when I started out creating this card I was anticipating using the Festival of Trees stamp set from the annual catalog and the corresponding punch. I envisioned trees embossed with white on a green with Peace in red maybe stamped with On Earth somewhere below. It didn’t work out that way but I couldn’t be happier with how it did turn out.
I knew I wanted to use the Holidays Fancy Foil Designer Vellum for the background and the Christmas Expressions Thinlit “peace” in red foil. The trouble was the center trees. The punched Festival of Trees just weren’t working so I went searching through my cubbards and pulled out Lovely as a Tree. That particular set has been in each and every annual catalog put out by Stampin Up and it just keeps on delivering year after year. I stamped the evergreen with mossy meadow once full strength then a couple of more times behind. The red star punched from the red foil makes a nice offset to the red foil Peace. I added some Flower Soft ‘snow’ along the bottom and some of the branches of the tree. If you don’t have flower soft, dazzling details glitter would also work well.
