Into the Woods box set – Part 1

Stampin Up recently came out with a fully designed project class for demonstrators to use with their customers.  The project focused on the Into the Woods Designer Series Paper,  Acrony Thank You stamp set and the Acorn Builder Punch and made 4 note cards, 4 envelops and a cute cute box to put them in.

I started to make up the project here at home to test run everything before I offered it up to my customers and ended up with something a bit different.  As I mentioned, the project included 4 note cards with envelopes.  After I had started cutting the paper per the directions I realized I didn’t have any note card envelopes.  I don’t use Note card size cards often so this shouldn’t have been a surprise to me.  It did though, cause me to rethink how I was going  to proceed only with standard card sizes.  The cards were no problem, I could make them bigger with some additional card stock behind, but what about the box.  Pinterest to the rescue.

At some point in my internet surfing I had pinned this box from Beth Beard at Mylittlecraftblog.com.  You can see her post by clicking on the picture below.  Beth made this box out of a single piece of 8-1/2 x 11 inch card stock.  I was intrigued as the other versions of boxes I had made to hold standard size cards required card stock larger than 8 1/2 inches, definitely limiting my color choices to only those I had in 12×12 to start.

Beth’s design worked out perfectly.  The box opens by pulling on the loop at the top of the box.  All four note cards and envelops fit nicely inside.

Stop back Monday to check out the cards I made to fill it.

  1. I can’t wait to see the cards!

  2. I am also doing the SU class with those notecards this month, but I didn’t have enough cards, but had a ton of envelopes. Have no idea how that happened. In any case, I will cut Crumb Cake card stock into note card sizes, but I didn’t want to make the box at the SU website, because it seemed too intricate with 13 people here. So, I adore yours, and just watched Beth’s video…. Love your card too! Thanks for the inspiration!
