Steeler Snowman

Today’s project is not a card.  It isn’t even paper. : 0  Nope, today’s project is ceramic.  We have a store in town called Flutterby Ceramics, a paint your own pottery store.  They have lots and lots of types of pottery to select from, you paint it right there in the store, and pick it up in about a week once it has been glazed and fired.  We went about a month ago with my mom, daughers and granddaughters for a girls afternoon and had a blast.  While there, I saw another project that I knew I would have to be coming back to complete.  A personalized snowman.

I opted to have our name cut into the belly of the snow man.  We could have had just about any short phrase cut in.  There is a whole in the bottom so a candle an shine through.  The rest of the design was totally up to me as the painter.  My husband, being from Pittsburgh PA is a huge Steeler fan so what better way to dress our snowman than in Black and Gold.

Here is a close up of the hat where I drew the emblem of the Steelers.

It took me two long visits to the store to complete his paint job as everything had to be painted three times.  I painted the whole thing white first then painted all the black, gold and emblem three times, just to be sure it covered.

Thanks for stopping by today.
