Made With Love for Baby

It was baby card day here this weekend.  The son of my husbands best friend had a baby in December, a little boy, and a memeber of my staff is expecting a baby this week, a girl.  I figured I might as well make them both at the same time but with a couple of girl/boy variations.  These are my take on the ‘dresser’ look card.  Stampin UP Www.AverysOwlery.com Made with Love

I started with Thick Whisper White as the card base for sturdyness.  I chose blushing bride for the girl, and Mint Macaron for the boy card.  Each card base was cut to 4 1/4 x 11, scored at 5 1/2.  While folded, I used the Deco Label die, next to the largest, to cut the base of the ‘dresser’.  I saved those pieces to add to the drawers.  Stampin UP Www.AverysOwlery.com Made with Love

I stamped both with the Hardwood background stamp.  (TIP: ink up your large background stamps then place your paper on the image, rather than stamping the image on your paper.  You can use your fingers or even a brayer, or bone folder to assure the paper picks up the ink evenly from the stamp).  Silver foil was used to create Stars for drawer pulls and the little baby hanger.  I stamped the little kitty and deer from Made With Love, being careful to not ink up the sayings included in the stamp.  Stampin UP Www.AverysOwlery.com Made with Love

I colored each of the kittys and deers with blushing bride, crumb cake and soft suede markers.  I added some tiny flowers with pearls using a retired flower punch but the Tree Builder punch has a little flower that would work just as well.  The little onsie was cut using Baby’s First die and Birthday Bouquet Designer Series PaperStampin UP Www.AverysOwlery.com Made with Love

For the inside I used the last little critter from Made With Love, the bunny and added a balloon from Baloon Celebration, leaving plenty of room for a message.  These were really fun to make.
