Picture Perfect

I love flowers. I think I have more flower stamps than are probably totally necessary but what can I say, I love flowers.  My husband knows that he can’t go wrong buying me flowers for birthday, Christmas, anniversary, Valentine’s day.  I certainly made it easy on him over the years.  My love of flowers has certainly carried over to my stamp collection as well.  My new favorite is the stamp I used here today, Picture Perfect.

Not only does the set have the lovely flowers, more on them later, but it also had a humingbird, the leaves you see on my card and even a star fish along with some lovely sentiments.  All the images are ‘3 or 4-step’ stamps.  That means that there are three stamps, stamped one on top of the other, to provide the shading and color combinations.  It may not be evident in the picture but I also used a sponge dauber and Soft Sky in the background.

For the flowers, I used Wisteria Wonder as the base as it is the lightest shade.  The second step I used Perfect Plum and for the final detail step, Blackberry Bliss.  I used a different techniqe for the leaves.  I only used Wild Wasabi but stamped it off on scratch paper twice before stamping on my card stock for the base layer.  I stamped off once for the second level and the last most detailed stamp I used it full strength.  The hummingbird is a three step also.  I used Island Indigo full strength and stamped off once as well as Wild Wasabi.  I really like these three colors together.
