PICK YOUR COLORS
This is my card for the Pals Paper Arts Challenge this week. Brian King selected Night of Navy, Real Red and Pool Party for this challenge.
PICK YOUR THEME
I suppose I went the way of ‘duh its Fourth of July so let’s make a flag card’ route. To be honest, I think I have only done one other Fourth of July (is there a reason we always write Fourth of July instead of 4th of July?) and it did not have a flag.
PICK YOUR SUPPLIES
I had seen other uses of the swirly scribbles waves in a flag. What a great way to show off the stars and stripes. I cut it out four times. twice in Red and twice in white then pieced it together. I used one of the prints from the Floral Boutique DSP to represent the stars cropping it first with the squares framelit with a scalloped night of navy underneath.
I pulled out the stamp set that was included in the Watercolor Wishes Kit for my sentiment. The stamp itself is straight, but I wanted it to curve like the duet banner punch so I used the punch itself as my stamping block. I laid the stamp on the top of the punch and curved it to match the outlined. Inked it up and stamped.

Lynn
Great card, Lynn! Love your use of these colors and dies to make this card. Love the tip to line up the stamp on the punch and use it. Great stuff. Thanks for playing along with my Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge.
How clever to use the punch as a block! I’ll have to give that a try, Lynn. And what a great sentiment for your card! Thanks for joining us this week for the Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge!
Fantastic card, Lynn! Love the unusual “flag” interpretation and the elements that you used to accomplish it!! And a great tip for the punch being used as a block… I would have just taken an acrylic block and pulled it off the punch outline…. duh!!! Thanks so much for including the PPA in your stamping fun this week. Always enjoy seeing you in the gallery!!
Lynn, what a great idea for matching the sentiment! I love the way you created the flag – it looks great! Thank you for joining us this week at the Pals Paper Arts Challenge, I hope you play along again soon!
