Welcome to InKing Royalty’s August Blog Hop! Stampin’ Up! demonstrators have been actively ordering from the 2016 Holiday Catalog – before it opens to customers on September 1. We are excited to share some of our new goodies with you today! Today’s Blog Hop is filled with inspiring projects that feature each artist’s take on the Fall months – Halloween and Thanksgiving are just around the corner. After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.
Yesterday was my brothers birthday and the with the weather finally breaking so we no longer have the high humidity and have mid 50s at night, I wanted to make something fall-ish yet manly for him. Paisleys work for that, right?
PICK YOUR TECHNIQUES
In the new Holiday Catalog, available for purchase September 1, there is a new set called Paisleys & Posies. The stamp set is full of great images of Paisleys and coordinates with a framelit set. I decided to use the stamps to create my own Designer Series Paper. I selected several of the images and stamped them in either Night of Navy or Soft Suede. I then colored in selected parts of them with those same colored markers.
PICK YOUR ACCESSORIES
I also used the new cable knit detailed texture impression folder. The detail on this embossing folder is so cool. I didn’t want to cover up to much of the cable knit so I cut the original background piece I had down to only fit on one side. Well then I needed a sentiment that also would not cover too much of the cable so I created my Happy Birthday Sentiment from Endless Birthday. It looked pretty plain all by itself so I cut it out with the Tags and Labels Framelits. I used three sizes of the same shape for a nice tight layer look.
PICK YOUR ACCENTS
One of the other new items in the Holiday catalog is Copper Foil paper. Just like our Gold and Silver paper the Copper is just as rich and high quality with the on-trend color. The Paisleys & Posies comes in a bundle with a framelit set. I pulled the Maple Leaf detailed framelit for an accent. There are two holes in the leaves making them perfect for threading with Night of Navy solid Bakers Twine.
