Daisy Delight

One of the most popular new items in the Stampin Up catalog live on June 1 is the Daisy Delight suite of products.  Specifically the new Daisy Punch.  It was so popular in fact that the Demonstrators who had the option of purchasing the punch during pre-order (Month of May) bought it out.  Unfortunately that means the punch and the bundle (punch and stamp set at 10% discount) are not going to be available on June 1 when the catalog goes live.  It will be available later in June or July as more punches have been ordered.

But don’t fret.  My card today shows how you can use this beautiful stamp set without needing to have the punch on hand.  I’m really happy with how it turned out.  What do you think?

DETAILS

First I stamped the Daisy image in versa mark then powdered and heat set with copper embossing powder.  I repeated that process once more, offsetting the petals from the first time.

Using my water color pencils I colored in the petals with calypso coral, making the center of the flower a bit darker, then used a light hand with my aqua painter to smooth it out.  Then I had to figure out what other colors I wanted to use with my copper and calypso.  I tried greens, blues, reds, and yellows finally realizing that all those were competing with the copper but neutrals wouldn’t.  Crumb cake and Early espresso are a great combination with copper and calypso.

The Lovely Words framelits came in handy again today.  One of these days I’ll use those framelits like they were designed but for now I like the ability to have a pretty scripted word to add to my card front.

Happy Stamping
