Little Houses

A few years ago, Stampin Up had a thinlit die and stamp set with little houses.  I loved it.  I made Halloween cards, Welcome to your new Home Cards and Holiday cards with that set.  This year there is a new set with little houses and I’m just as in love with this one as I was before.  Today’s card I’m showcasing the Hearts Come Home stamp set.

THE PARTICULARS

My color scheme was inspired by the Merrly little Christmas DSP, although you would never know it since the black and white side is the one I used.  The entire series of paper is made up of Black, Old Olive and White.  What great colors to use for Holiday Cards.  Just add Red, or….don’t.

Again today I used the Everyday Label Punch (my new most favorite punch) and layered it over the Stitched Circle framelit. I stamped the sentiment twice, once in Old Olive on White card stock, then again in versamark on Old Olive Card Stock and then embossed with white powder.  The Home punched out perfectly with the new Classic Label punch.

Smokey Slate houses under a flying Santa and his reindeer look perfect with all the layers.

MEASUREMENT:
  • Old Olive card base 8 1/2 x 5 1/2  scored at 4 1/4
  • Black 5 1/8 x 3 7/8
  • White 5 x 3 3/4
  • DSP 4 3/4 x 3 1/2
  • White 4 x 3 1/4

Thanks for visiting today.  See you next week.

  1. So sweet. I love how you’ve highlighted the word “home” in this sentiment. I’ve always thought of the dies as the “selling point” for this bundle, but you’ve really made the stamp set shine here. Love it!

  2. This is so cute! I love how you incorporated the black.

    • Thanks Jackie. I really thought I was going to end up with the plaid side of the paper until I put it together. Non traditional holiday cards are one of my favorites.
