Sending Lots of Love

I like being able to be creative and make my own backgrounds and ‘Designer Series Paper’.  It isn’t as hard as you might think. Just pick some stamps that go well together, ones from the same stamp set are always a good start.  Stamp the largest image first then fill in with the next largest and so on. These two cards both use Lots of Love stamp set and Whole lot of Lovely Designer Series Paper for just a touch of an accent.

THE PARTICULARS

I made two versions of this card.  The first using Pool Party, Tranquil Tide, Crushed Curry, Soft Suede and Black came from an email to me from Stampin Up.  For demonstrators they send us project ideas once a week and they are always lovely.  I decided to recreate it. I stamped the greeting first for both of these cards.  I did use my MISTI tool so I could assure a very crisp image and be able to ink it up multiple times if necessary.

However, I have been accused, rightfully so, of using Pool Party a lot.  Ok, I do.  It’s one of my favorite colors in our color pallet and it can be used with SO SO many other colors. But to show my versatility, I decided to create this same card with totally different colors.  I went for pink, or rather Berrry Burst, because I don’t use that color family much.  Then it was a matter of pulling ink pads from my cupboard that would work well with Berry Burst.  I needed at least three other colors but found two and cheated on the third.  Dapper Denim, Crushed Curry and…..Berry Burst – yup, Berry Burst stamped off once to give a coordinating but different color than the rest.

Thanks for visiting today. My next post will be the opposite of these, lots of DSP and very little stamping. How Fun. Hope you come back soon.
