Hello everyone. I hope you all had a great fourth of July. We spent the day with Grandgirls. What better way to spend a day?
ACCENTED BLOOMS
My Projects today use the lovely Accented Bloom stamp set along with other accessories like paper, punches and embossing folders.
TIP 1 – USING THE STAMPARATUS
I found this card on Pinterest, but now can’t find it again for credit. I wish I had Pinned it instead of just loving it. If anyone recognizes this card, please let me know.
I cut So Saffron cardstock to 3.5 x 3.5 inches. This fits the stamp set perfectly. I used white embossing powder on the image, adding layers of Designer Series Paper (DSP) and Blueberry Bushel cardstock. The cut out in the corner is from the trio punch. To get the perfect stamped image for the sentiment I used my Stamparatus. The image is a solid stamp except for the words so a good covering of ink was necessary. Using the Stamparatus stamp positioning tool I was able to stamp it multiple times with out messing it up and still get that solid color blue I wanted.
If you would like to know more about the Stamparatus, check out this video. There are several other videos out on you tube about the Stamparatus. Just search Stamparatus by Stampin Up and enjoy.
TIP 2 – WATERCOLOR PENCILS
For my second card I cased the catalog sample on page 19. Using this stamp set I again started with a stamped image on 3.5×3.5 cardstock. This is Sahara Sand. I stamped with Whisper White Craft ink and let dry then used watercolor pencils to color the image. I actually made two samples, only one is pictured here, using two different techniques with the watercolor pencils. First one I blended the pencil color using an aqua painter and water. The effect is a soft subtle blending of the pencil strokes.
The second time, pictured above, I used my blender pen to blend the pencil strokes. The effect is a more vibrant color. Both are beautiful. It’s just nice to have options.

Such a fun picture, Lynn! Look at all of those smiles – can’t believe how grown up Avery is! Love how you’ve embossed the flowers with white on such a soft backdrop. Makes the “thank you” the focus. <3
