A few weeks ago I came upon a post showing how to make your own Tissue Box. by Joyce Whitman at Stampin Scrapper. You can see her post here and to her video. The great thing about this version is the standard square size box fits snugly inside so it is all reusable. Make one for every room of your home. We may be past the cold season but allergy season will be on us soon. Tissue Boxes are always in style.
I followed Joyce’s directions in her video, with a few exceptions. I only had 12×12 paper in white. It does require 2 pieces of 12 x 12 paper. I didn’t really want my box in white so I added card stock on the sides, then cut the Designer Series Paper, in my case I used vellum from Floral Romance. It is perfect for my craft room. I’ll make some others for the bedrooms. I’ve included my measurements below.
Dimensions
White 12×12 and 8-1/2 x 11
- 9 1/2″ x 10″ – 2 of these
- On 9 1/2″ side score at 5 1/4″
- On 10″ side score at 4 1/2″ and 9″
- 4 1/2 x 4 1/2″ for the top
Petal Pink
- 6-5/8/8″ x 6 5/8″ this is for the top –
- score at 1″ on all sides
- 4″ x 4″ also for the lid of the box
- 4 3/8″ x 5-1/8″ for the sides – 4 of these
- 4 3/8″ x 4 3/8″ for the bottom and inside of box – 2 of these
Floral Romance Designer Series Vellum
- 4 at 4 1/4″ x 5″ – 4 of these
I really hope you give these tissue boxes a try. Thanks for stopping and as always, I love your comments.
Happy Stamping.
