This week I have been sharing projects using stencils. Today sadly is my last post but you can see the other two posts Here and Here. Today I used the Snowman Season stamp set with the polka dot stencil.
The background
Tape coastal cabana to polka dot stencil using post-it-note tape. Apply embossing paste to cardstock. I use an old expired gift card to scrape away excess paste and make it flat on the stencil. I then sprinkled some ice glitter to the stencil paste with my fingers so I didn’t used to much. I pressed it into the paste so it would stay, removed the stencil and let it dry. Don’t forget to clean the stencil and gift card immediately to prevent paste from drying.
Make a stencil for snowman builder punch.
I also needed to make a stencil for the stamps and snowman builder punch. The builder punch will cut all the parts of the snowman but the corresponding stamps are not connected. So I made a stencil by first using the punch on a piece of whisper white.
Place punched stencil on the Stamparatus base. Carefully place the stamps into the stencil then use the stamparatus plate to pick up the stamps.
I keep the whisper white stencil in my stamp case for future use. Ink the stamps with Memento Ink and stamp onto a new piece of whisper white.
I colored the images with Stampin blends. Basic black, real red and spruce on the hat. Pumpkin Pie for the nose. Light balmy blue to shadow the snowman. Punch out and glue pieces together. I used liquid glue for more control.
Creating the Scene
I used the slope die from the In the Woods die set on 4 x 2-3/4 piece of whisper white cardstock. Add dimensionals and adhere the piece to the stenciled coastal cabana. If you cut it in the middle of that size paper you end up with two slope pieces for use on two cards.
I stamped the whimsical tree stamp twice with coastal cabana ink. Stamp leaves in red over one. Stamp whimsical tree with real red. Punch out all three. I adhered the trees to the card front using glue for the trees in the back and dimensionals on the tree in the front. I used dimensionals for the snowman
Sentiment
I used the word dies from Word Wished dies and cut out Merry and Christmas from Real Red with my cutting machine. I added liquid glue to the words to adhere to the card front. I held down for a few seconds so make sure it would adhere. It can be kind of tricksy with the embossing paste and ice sprinkles to get it to stick.
Thank you for visiting today. I’ll have all new projects to share next week and I hope you come back to visit. I also really appreciate any comments or questions. You can comment by clicking View Comments at the end of this post. Until next time…
Happy Stamping
