From My Heart for Valentine

I know it is two days before Christmas but that means it is only 7 weeks till Valentine’s day and that requires some prep time for those Valentine’s cards you want to or give to loved ones.  That’s where the From My Heart suite of products available Jan 3 is perfect for crafting.  I made a couple of cards to share with you today that you can consider for your own card giving.  Let’s take a look.

The From My Heart Suite has so many great products like fabulous Designer Series Paper, a stamp set, and two Heart Shaped punches.  Purchase them as a bundle and save 10%.  In addition to these basic suite products, there are also embellishments and even Heart shaped foil tins you can actually bake in or fill with treats.

I really focused on the Designer Series Paper for this first card.  The patterns are so easy to mix and match.  I used three different designs on the card.  Can you spot the third one?  If you guessed the heart shape on the left you were right.  I punched the design right from the paper.  I love it when our Paper and punches or dies coordinate to do that.

I created a tiny scalloped heart-shaped frame too.  First I punched the heart shape from Flirty Flamingo Card stock.  Then I positioned the Scalloped Heart around the cutout and punched again creating a thin frame I placed on the heart.

Lastly, I used a new to me bow tying method I learned from Julie DiMatteo.  Tie the ribbon into a bow around a stamping block and then snip apart from the back of the block.  Makes a perfect bow ribbon to wrap around a card front element.

My second card also used two pieces of DSP but here I think the star of the show are the stitched frame dies around the heart.

The stitched dies are new from Stitched So Sweetly.  I can’t believe I almost didn’t put these on my preorder.  I love them.  Here’s how I made the frame and other pieces.

I ran the two larges frames through my die cutting machine together to create the frame.  That left me with the centerpiece.  I cut another one of those and placed them on the top and bottom of my featured image.

Did you spot the stamping on the card front?  The arrow in Memento Tuxedo Black is from the Heartfelt stamp set as is the Love You Lots.  the splatter stamp is from Label Me Bold stamp set.
