Another Pleased as Punch Card

I started on Monday with a card I created using the Pleased as Punch Designer Series Paper.  You can check that post out HERE.  I had so much fun with it I just kept going and made a couple more cards for you to see.  I’ll share one today and the last one on Friday so be sure to stop back.

Again, I used the Pleased as Punch DSP.  One side has the Hearts and the other side has the soft pink buffalo check.

I was thinking I would punch out the hearts – they fit perfectly to the Heart Punch in the Jan-Jun Mini Catalog – but when I really looked at the design I liked the idea of the three hearts in a column.  The Tulips are punched using the Tulip Builder punch on another of the sheets of DSP.  The Sentiment(s) are from Under My Umbrella.

I cut the DSP, decided to use the pink as a background and THEN figured out what size my card would be.  It ended up being 6-1/2 x 3-1/4 when folded.  So 6-1/2 x 6-1/2 square scored down the middle.  Of course, then that meant I needed an envelope.

I used my Envelope Punch Board, the best tool ever for making envelopes and boxes.  I selected the card size of  3-1/2 x 6-1/2 as it was the closest.  I had this idea for another long skinny card to make a top opening envelope.  I didn’t like the final result of that card, I’ll rework it and try again another day, but the top opening envelope stuck with me. I folded back the right side flap and look how perfectly those buffalo checks line up.  It’s like I planned it that way.  Thank You to the Goddess of Paper Crafting.

Thank you for visiting today.  I always appreciate your comments and answer all questions as soon as possible.  Until next time…Happy Stamping

  1. Such a great project and wonderful showcase of this amazing paper! ♥

  2. I am amazed that the envelope punch board had an envelope that size! I have one and I too love it, but I’m not sure I would have even checked to see if it had a size near your card size. I do love your card. Quite ingenious ! Thanks for sharing your creativity .

    • You’d be surprised what all you can do with that envelope punch board. There are lots of sizes listed on the front but I’ve still had to be a bit creative and come up with one that was in-between two listed sizes. Not to mention all the boxes you can make. A wonderful tool for sure.
