Painted Poppies Sympathy

This week I’ll be sharing several projects all using the Painted Poppies and Poppy Parade suite of products in the Stampin’ UP! Jan-June mini catalog.  Be sure to come back Wednesday for a Congratulations card and Friday for a Happy Birthday Card with a cool new box to store or gift the cards in.

The Poppy Parade Designer Series Paper is certainly the star of this show.  I wanted something soft for a sympathy card.  There are many ‘happy’ designs in this paper stack that didn’t fit my needs but these three certainly did.

I used a really simply ‘fun’ fold layout today. The 4-1/4 x 11 poppy parade cardstock is scored at 5-1/2 and 2-3/4.  The remaining measurements are down below.

I jazzed up the inside, without adding any bulk, by embossing the two label dies from the Painted Labels die set.  To do this I used Big Shot Embossing Mats. Instead of cutting the paper, the die simply embosses it to add texture.

Dimensions

  • Poppy Parade card base 11 x 4-1/4 scored at 5-1/2 and 2-3/4
  • Whisper White 2-5/8 x 4-1/8
  • Poppy DSP 2-1/2 x 4
  • 2 pieces of Whisper White 2-3/4 x 4
  • Blackberry Bliss DSP 2-5/8 x 3-7/8
  •  Pool party striped DSP 4×5-1/4
  • Scrap Pool Party and Whisper White large enough for die-cutting

Thank you for visiting today.  I always appreciate your comments and answer all questions as soon as possible.  Until next time…

Happy Stamping

  3. I really beautiful card.

  4. Beautiful card…I love it…how do you emboss with dies?

    • Thanks for asking Claudette. I use a Big Shot Die cutting machine. Sizzix sells a special type of embossing plate that includes a rubber matt. When the dies are used the rubber mat, the shape of the die is embossed into the paper rather than cutting it. Such a great way to add texture to your projects.

      Happy Stamping
