Welcome to InKing Royalty’s May Blog Hop! During this year’s blog hops, we are enjoying a year of celebrations and this month’s projects celebrate Sunshine, so prepare yourself for projects that are filled with sunny images of joy in the great outdoors. We are excited to share our creations with you today! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.
Happy Sunshine Day. There is nothing that says sunshine quite like a Sunflower so I’ve been working with my new Celebrate Sunflower Bundle. I just love this stamp set and the dies are so pretty and detailed. Both of the sentiments included are from the Share Sunshine Covid-19 Relief PDF sold by Stampin’ UP!. More details on how to purchase yours HERE. I printed the sentiment using my color printer then cut it out using my Scan n Cut machine but you could easily snip it with scissors.
My sunflower today has several layers. The bottom is vellum, stamped with Crushed Curry, and blended with a Blender Pen. My video below shows you exactly how I did that. The Sunflower details are Bumble Bee and Cinamon Cider cardstock, two of the new 2020-2022 In-Colors.
I used some other fun new products on my card today. The card base is from Flowers for Every Season Memories & More Cards and Envelopes. The floral pattern paper is from Ornate Garden Specialty Designer Series Paper. The large vellum die cut underneath is a new die from Ornate Layers Dies.
Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you’ll hop along to the next stop on the blog hop, Robin Myren at Songbird Designs by Robin . There’s lots of inspiration to be found in this group – and you don’t want to miss it!

Reserve Your Spot for the Annual Catalog Product Shares – Dates Extended
Because there has been a delay in some folks receiving their new annual catalog (due to the pandemic affecting shipping times) I’m extending my deadline to sign up for paper shares from May 27 to June 5. Invoices via Paypal will be going out this week for those who have already signed up. Payment is due no later than June 2nd. Anyone who signs up after May 30 will receive a PayPal invoice from me the following week with payment due no later than June 7th.
Click HERE for all the information you need to know about my product shares. Be sure to read all the details before signing up.
What is a share?
It’s just like how it sounds! Instead of buying all of the new paper and ribbon in the Annual Catalog yourself, you’ll split it with 3 other people and pay a fraction of the price – and I do all the work for you!

The sunflower is a Wow. I like the different layers and technique.
Thanks Jackie.
The vellum layer is perfect to give depth to the images. Sunflowers are the definition of sunshine 🙂
I don’t think you can go wrong with Vellum!
Lynn I adore your coloring on the sunflower and leaves! You are so good with the elusive blender pen
I love my blender pen. I just used it in a class yesterday and they loved it too. It’s great for watercolor pencil blending too.
Do you sometimes, just scroll through a post and then move on? Impossible with your post today. There was something to see in each photo, in your video, and in every word. There is a lot going on with this card, and everything works together perfectly. I enjoyed your video, liking how you showed product numbers without interfering with your message. I also like the blender pen on vellum – a new technique for me to try. Thank you for sharing your work.
Wow, Linda, this is high praise coming from you. I’m so glad you liked my card and my post and my video. I think you will like the blender pen on vellum technique a lot too. Love to see what you create.
Thanks so much for sharing how you colored the vellum sunflower! I’ve been struggling with this, so I can’t wait to try this out! Love the card and sentiments!
Never would have thought to use a blender pen with dye ink, that’s amazing! Love all of the elements of your card. A lot going on, but it all works beautifully.
Thanks Sheryl. I use the blender pen with my ink pads too. I just touch the tip to the pad and then use it to color. Adds a nice vibrant color to the paper.
GOR-GEOUS! I love everything about this card. The colors, the layout, all the elements you combined. Love, love, love it!
Awe thanks Candy. I had my class make it yesterday and they also loved it.
What a beautiful and sunny card! I can’t wait to play with this sunflower. It is so gorgeous, especially paired with the dies. And that background paper is to die for! Xo
That was a happy find realizing that the Ornate Garden paper worked so perfectly with the sunflower. Thanks Pam
That triple-decker sunflower is to die for! Just gorgeous! I like the pretty vellum piece behind it as well.
Such a gorgeous card, Lynn! So many flowers, so much sunshine. Love the video, too! The coloring technique is so simple but oh, so effective! SO happy you hopped with us! ♥
What a fantastic card, Lynn! I love how you’ve combined the sunflower with the Share Sunshine PDF and the Ornate Garden DSP – beautiful!
