Happy November all! It’s a bit hard to believe that 2021 is almost over. What will 2022 bring for us? Will it be better like we hope or the same as the last two years? Only time will tell. Until then we carry on with our lives, making the most of our time, day by day, season by season. Sorry for being maudlin today. I hope you don’t find my card maudlin.
If you follow my posts regularly you know I like to use layers and die cuts and other things to give my cards textures and pop. This card is a bit of a departure from that style but I like it so so much. Everything element is stamped, no die cutting at all. I’ve also used some unexpected colors from the red and green family.
Christmas Season stamp set, new in the Jul-Dec mini catalog is a ‘no-sentiment’ stamp set. Just beautiful images to mix together for lovely projects. Once I had my stamp set in mind I went to my color wall to pick out the ink to use.
Soft suede is pretty predictable and so is Soft Sea Foam, but when I pulled out Flirty Flamingo I even surprised myself. But how pretty they look all together!.
I still needed a sentiment and Christmas to Remember has bunches. I really like sentiments like the Tis the season where the ink is all around the words. These are perfect for a little snipping and you have a sentiment with a layered background all in one.
Step by Step Tis the Season card
- Soft Sea Foam card base 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 scored at 4-1/4
- Basic white 4 x 5-1/4, 3/4 x 5-1/4, and a piece large enough for the sentiment
- Ink large background pinecone image with Soft Suede then stamp off. Stamp on white as shown. Repeat for second pinecone.
- Using the detailed pinecone image ink with soft suede and stamp over background
- Stamp fronds using Soft Sea Foam as shown, one on the left and two on the right.
- Stamp holly leaves in Pool Party and add holly berries stamped in Flirty Flamingo. Adher panel to card base with tape runner.
- Stamp Tis the Season in flirty flamingo on basic white. I stamped this on scrap paper several times until the image came out really clear and solid before stamping on my basic white cardstock. Snip out sentimetn with scissors.
- Wrap a piece of sheer pool party ribbon around 3/4 x 5-1/4 piece of basic white and tie in a large bow. Add glue dots under the ribbon to hold in place. Adhere panel to card front with dimensional. Adhere Tis the Season sentiment to card front with dimensional.
