A Product Sneak Peek and a Video

Today I have another product sneak peek plus a quick how-to video with a very quick coloring technique I think you will love. I’m using a new designer series paper you can purchase beginning in May with the release of the new annual catalog from Stampin’ UP! So, let’s get to it.

How about this beauty. I did fussy cut out the floral images with my paper snips and I know that makes many of you cringe to think about, but I find it enjoyable to do every so often. The paper is called Perfectly Penciled and is a ‘stand alone’ paper pack, meaning it is not tied to any other specific products. I love it because it is all in black, white, and gray and can be used as-is, or colored with a variety of methods.

Perfectly Penciled Designer Series Paper

I used the top sheet shown on the left and colored it with my sponge daubers with just a flicking motion. It is really quick and easy to do and I have a video here to show you how.

I cut my pieces of DSP from the edges of the paper, to really take advantage of all of the sheets of paper. Since the DSP is so intricate, I layered it on a piece of 4-3/4 x 3-1/2 Smoky Slate cardstock along with a layer of Pale Papaya measuring 5 x 3-3/4. The Happy Mother’s day sentiment is from the Daffodil Daydream stamp set as are the splatters behind the flowers. I finished it off with some opal rounds adhesive-backed embellishments.

Of course, you can use this technique without having to cut out the image, It also works well on any other large floral image design like Blessings of Home. I hope you try it out on your own.
