Coloring Peony Garden

Lots of folks are getting into the coloring craze and paper crafters are no different. Many of us, myself included, are not able to draw a stick figure but boy can we color one that is drawn for us. I’m sharing an easy backgrouond coloring technique with the Peony Garden Designer Series Paper.

Prized Peony

Brian king shared a recent project where he colored just the background of a piece of the black and white Love You Always Designer Paper. I loved that idea so much that I tried it out on a piece of very floral Peony Garden designer paper. Stampin Blends are perfect for this technique as it goes on smoothly with no streaks.

Prized Peony

The 12×12 Peony Garden Designer Paper was cut to 4 x 6. A piece was colored with Light Misty Moonlight Stampin blends, the other with Light Mango Melody Stampin blends. When I cut down the Misty Moonlight to fit a card front I was left with a piece that actually looked pretty neat on the reverse side even with misty moonlight ink showing through so I used that for the sentiment.

The Prized Peony bundle from the Annual Catalog has wonderful dies including leaves and borders. My card featured both, each from Mint Macaron cardstock.
