Hello all, I’m back with a couple of cute cards for you today using the Nothing’s Better Than stamp and die set. I’ve been on hiatus the past week while we went to our cabin located in northwest Pennsylvania. It’s in Cook’s Forest if that means anything to ya. It’s just a little 4 room cabin but it does have a working kitchen and bathroom and a double bed so I like going there. This weekend we were putting in gravel all through the front of the cabin to cut down on the mud and grass tracked in when it is wet. We shoveled 6 tons of gravel. I’m not doing that again anytime soon.
I made two cards both using the same stamp set and layout. The card is a unique slimline card and is 5-1/2 x 6 scored at 3″. It made for a fun size to work with and still fits perfectly in a standard size envelope.
To make this card easier to assemble I used two new products available in the annual catalog adhesive section (pg 162); Adhesive sheets and Foam Adhesive sheets.
Both of these cards have scripted words die cut from cardstock. You know how hard that can be to adhere to your card front and that is where the Adhesive sheets come in handy. There are 12 sheets each 6 x 12″ so you really get a lot of real estate with a 10.00 purchase. These sheets are actually thin double-sided tape with backing on both sides. I cut a piece of cardstock just large enough for the die and attached the same size adhesive sheet to it. Then cut it with the die just like normal. When the die comes out, there is adhesive with the backing on the underside. Just peel and stick to your card.
Both of these cards also have a cute little element popped up on the front. This one here is a coffee cup. Now I could have used regular dimensional underneath it but why when it is so easy to use the Foam Adhesive Sheets. These are just like our dimensional but without being pre-cut. Same deal here, just stamp on cardstock and cut to size for the die. Peel off the top layer and adhere the cardstock to the foam, then die cut just like normal. The dies are sharp enough to cut through it all. Peel and stick to the card front just like you would with regular dimensional but so much easier. Imagine using these for the letter dies from Playful Patterns.
Thank you for visiting today. I always appreciate your comments and answer all questions as soon as possible. Until next time…
Happy Stamping
Lynn
