Happy Birthday and PPA #170 Color Challenge

Today’s card is based on the color challenge by The Pals Paper Arts #170 using Midnight Muse, Crushed Curry and Early Espresso. As soon as I saw the challenge I knew I would make this card for my Dad’s birthday, September 11.  I’m very please to say it was selected as one of the PPA Picks for this challenge.  Thank you Kerry Willard Bray at Stamping Goodness for selecting my dad’s birthday card.  Makes it that much more special.

About this card
1.  Some folks might have been intimidated by these colors but I thought they looked great together, and so perfect for fall.  I did add a bit of Pumpkin Pie in there with the piece of DSP from Sweater Weather.  I also inked most every edge on this card in Early Espresso, to pull it all together.

2. I like fun fold cards.  Cards that have a bit of surprise in them for the recipient just by opening them.  This particular fold is one of my favorites.  I’m sure you’ll see it again in the future.

3.  The Happy Birthday stamp is from You’re Amazing stamp set but was also sold as a single stamp.  The stamp on the inside, a quote from Abraham Lincoln, my favorite US President, is from a Birthday stamp set I purchased in a big box store.  It seemed the most appropriate for my favorite and only dad.
