I’ve mentioned before that we have a lot of weddings to attend this summer/fall, and earlier I posted the wedding invitations I made for my daughters bff, Ashley. See that post Here. Today’s card is the one I made for her shower. Very different from her invitations.
About the card
1. I cased this card from a post by Connie Stewart at Simply Simple Stamping. You can check out her post here. I loved her original card, colors and layout but she was using it as a sympathy card. I wanted something not so soft and to work for a Wedding shower, so I went a bit bolder on my colors and really like how it turned out.
2. Embossing makes all the difference. I heat embossed the flowers in black so that they would pop when colored with markers. Dry embossing for the background with Square Lattice give the needed texture.
3. Another technique I learned from Connie is to use the same punch to create a layer but punching two of them and cutting each one in half. One vertically and the other horizontally. When the four pieces are layered behind the front they look like a one piece layer.
Hope you liked it. Thanks for stopping by the Owlery today.
