Merry Little Christmas Cards

This weekend I was busy busy busy getting ready for the Thanksgiving Holiday.  There will be 23 people here on Thursday with lots of great food, family and friends.  But, I took some time out to get some Christmas cards created using the Merry Little Christmas Card Simply Created kit.  IMG_1304-001

I purchased this as a bundle with the Merry Little Christmas stamp set but opted to use the Photopolymer Endless Wishes for all my stamping needs.  The kit itself comes with supplies to make 8 cards including coastal cabana cardbase, Designer series paper, white tags, buttons, and bakers twine, envelope liners and envelopes.  Of course I had to step it up a bit.

About my card
1.  I first decided to emboss the card base with Northern Flurry embossing folder to add just a little depth.  I also added a piece of Real Red behind the DSP.  I will almost always mount my DSP on cardstock as I think it gives it a more solid footing for the thinner paper.

2.  Now for the tag.  There are three snowflakes included in the endless wishes set.  I stamped all three with versamark and heat and stick powder, then added Dazzling Diamond glitter.  This alone was not enough, even with the sentiment stamped in 3 colors so I added some Coastal Cabana snowflakes too.

3.  Final touches with the cute little red button and bakers twine.  I used some red ribbon (non-SU) and punched a slit in the top with a slot punch, also non-SU.

This kit, even with my additions, came together very quickly and I’m happy with my results. I hope you like them too.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today.  Have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving.
