Today’s card was inspired by two challenges. The Paper Players challenge using Evergreen and the Pals Paper Art color challenge. Here is my offering.
And the challenges
About my card
1. As soon as I saw the color challenge I wanted to use a Silver embossed Evergreen tree as the focal point. I added some rhinestones for a little bling and interest.
2. I had no idea what size card this would end up being, which is the opposite of how I usually work. But this time I needed the evergreen tree to dictate how big. The final dimensions are 5 1/4 x 5 1/4. I had quite a bit of ‘white space’ on here that needed something. To fill it I used Elegant Eggplant on the Everything Eleanor swirl, stamping off once before hand. I used my blender pen in the areas where the ink didn’t cover to my satisfaction once stamped. Worked like a charm to fill in some ‘gaps’.
3. To make the matting for the oval Joy, I cut two additional ovals the same size and mounted them above and below the stamped Very Vanilla for a matted look.
Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you are all getting your Holiday shopping done. I did a bit today but have lots more to finish. At least all my Christmas Cards are made. I think I’ll set my husband to addressing them this weekend.
