Sneak Peak Banner Birthday

I bet you were thinking you would see another Holiday card today?  Nope, today is the last post of 2013 for the birthday cards I created for my staff.  I wasn’t able to post all of the cards I made this year for my 17 wonderful people because I didn’t start this blog until this summer.  I’ve had plenty to share though, and I hope you like this last one as well.  I’m also able to showcase some of the new products available Jan 2 from the new Occasions Catalogue from Stampin’ Up! As a demonstrator I can purchase early and play with the new stuff and show off to all of you to get you even more excited about what is coming.

Today’s card is for David.  David is the man of all trades on my team.  Whenever something would come up, he would always be the guy who could figure out how to fix it. In other words, he is indispensable.

About my card
1. This card is chocked full of new stuff.  Let’s talk about the new embossing folder, a Sale-a-bration item, free, with a $50 purchase.  During Sale-a-bration which is the end of Jan – March, for every $50 you spend from any catalogue you can select a free item from the Sale-a-bration brochure and they are all such cute items.  I used Daffodil Delight Coordination paper and then sanded it to bring out the lighter colored core.

2. Banner Framelits – I hate cutting banners. I never feel like I can get them to be evenly flagged on the ends.  Well, I have that problem no more.  There is now a banner framelit set with 6 sizes.  It was the first item I marked in my catalogue as a must have. I used two of them here to show off the new Kaleidoscope Designer Series Paper and the sentiment from the new Perfect Pennants Stamp set, and yup, it is a bundle item with the banner framelits so you can save 15% when purchased together.

3.  The last new item is the scalloped tag topper punch.  Any 2″ wide piece can be punched with the pretty scalloped top including a hole for ribbon.  It was the second “must have” item I marked.  Oh, and one of the banner framelits fits perfectly in the tag topper.  I also finished it off with a bit of new Retro fresh washi tape and This and That washi tape.

Thanks for stopping by.  Hope you all have a Very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Lynn

  1. Aw! I just love what you’ve done with your card! I love love love banners and tags so glad you’ve embellished your card with these elements! This card is right up my alley with texture, ribbon and buttons oh my! Happy Dance!

  2. Awesome showcase of new products. Love the colors, shapes and textures.

  3. Liked that you angled the banner instead of using it straight. The colors in the kaleidoscope dsp are great. I’m kicking myself for not ordering it. I do have a few of the other newbie’s that you have used.
