White on White for The Paper Players #176

Today’s card is inspired by the latest Paper Players color challenge, or, should I say lack of color challenge. The cards this time should be all white, however a sentiment could be done in metallic. Wow, I have never tried to create an all white card before, this was definitely going to be a challenge.

About my card
1.  I honestly didn’t do anything with it for a couple of days. I just let it soak in my head for a while. Finally I stood at my craft counter – I always stand when I stamp. I relate it to cooking. It would feel awkward to sit while trying to cook, and I feel the same way about stamping. It feels awkward to me to sit – anyway, back to my all white card. I stood at my counter and pulled out a piece of whisper white and cut it in half. I started to score it at 4 1/4 when I thought, hey, there is no reason why this has to be folded this way, let’s do a gate fold, one of my favorite styles. Then I pulled out some pieces of whisper white that I always have cut and on hand sized 5 1/2 x 2 1/8. While I was digging out those pieces I spied with my little eye some same size pieces of Natural White. Hmmm, this could be very beautiful and I thought it still met the all white requirements since it is called Natural White.

2. I chose to emboss the natural white card stock with the square lattice embossing folders, one of my very favorites, and layer that under the whisper white pieces on the front of the card. Both pieces popped up on dimensionals. I cut the whisper white pieces down to show off more of the natural white.

3. I stamped the flowers from a new stamp set available in Jan using versa-mark and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I added some pearls on the flowers too. The inside portion is embossed with Framed Tulips. I toyed with adding some type of sentiment inside but eventually opted to leave it blank and let the card speak for itself. Final touch was the whisper white taffeta ribbon run under the whisper white and tied in a little bow to keep the card closed.

What do you think? This could be used for a wedding, christening or baptism, anniversary, shower, sympathy ……..

I hope you liked it. Challenge yourself to make an all white card sometime.
