Today’s card is for one of my staff members, Pete. Pete is a huge Sci-Fi fan, book lover, and collector of things. One more thing about Pete. He is a Whovian. Don’t know what that is? It is a lover and knower of all things Doctor Who, the cult classic british TV series that just celebrated 50 Years of Doctor Who anniversary. Pete’s birthday is coming up at the end of this month and I knew exactly what kind of card I could make for Pete that he would totally crack up over and love. A Tardis. Don’t know what that is either, huh. It is the Time Machine The Doctor travels in, and it looks like a British Police call box. Do a google search on Doctor Who or Tardis and you’ll be bombarded with pictures.
Here is my interpretation.
And here is a shot from of the inside
It says Birthday on the panel you can’t see. The sentiment I chose, which fits perfectly for Pete is not from SU but so appropriate for my friend Pete. Growing older is Mandatory, Growing Up is optional – Chili Davis.
For all you Whovians out there, I hope you like my attempt at creating a Tardis in the form of a card. It does fold flat so I can deliver it in an envelope. And, just like the ‘real’ Tardis, it’s bigger on the inside, hehe!

Love that you can make almost anything with a little imagination and thoughfulness. I know your coworker with love it, too!
Love it! We are Dr. Who fans, so totally “get” the Tardis! Great job!
My son is a huge Dr. Who fan. I would love to make this for him. Can you offer a tutorial?
