Hooo, Birthday wishes

Good morning everyone.  Today’s card is just fun.  I had fun making it and everytime I look at it, it makes me smile.  Hope that is ok, that my own card makes me smile?!?

About my card
1.  Isn’t he cute!  Of course, I am partial to owls, I mean really, it’s Avery’s Owlery afterall.  So the inspiration for this card came from the owl washi tape I picked up at Staples, of all places.  They had a whole display of washi tape and I loved this one with the owls and I was pretty sure it was Bermuda Bay on those wings.  I also picked up the leaf washi tape above.  I thought I might be able to use it as the colors were red, black and yup, Bermuda Bay.

2.  Next best thing that happened was I had this Bermuda Bay card base in my stash of unused, but not forgotten scraps of paper.  I had cut off about an inch from one side then my inspiration had run out so I had tucked it away for a later day, which ended up being this past weekend.  I pulled it out and wow, that washi tape would go perfectly across the bottom.  The rest was easy, building on that theme using the Owl Builder punch and the Word Bubbles saying.  The branch for the Owly is actually the stem stamp from Everything Eleanor.

3.  Don’t forget the inside.  The saying is from the Sale-a-Bration (which started Tues. Have you put in your order yet and gotten your free stuff????)  stamp set called See Ya Later.  So cute.  I colored it with markers for the multi color look.

I hope you liked my Owl card today. Thanks so much for stopping by the Owlery. If you would like to order any of the SU items I used today, click on any of the pictures below to be taken directly to my Stampin’ Up! store to place your order, or just browse around.  Don’t forget Sale-a-Bration is now underway and for every $50 you order of any SU product (catalogue, on-line only items, Celebrate the Everyday catalogue, photopolymers, etc) you can select one of the free items from the SAB brochure.  Heck, pick the See Ya Later stamp set I used today.

Thanks
Lynn

  1. Yes you are correct. It makes you smile. I love how all the colors came together. Isn’t it great to find something (owl washi tape @ Staples) when you least expect it. 🙂
