Happy Sunday everyone. Today is a beautiful day in Ohio, unusually warm considering the week we just had with sub-zero temps. My card today is probably a valentine card, but really could be used for anytime you want to express your love for someone. The fact that it is Valentine month, well, okay, it’s a Valentine card. It is based on the Freshly Made Sketch #121
About my card
1. I have to say, I started out to make this card in Gold. I pulled out my Gold vellum, my Gold ink pad, my Brushed Gold cardstock….oops. No Brushed Gold cardstock in the cubboard. Dang it. The last order I had place I ordered one of each brushed gold and brushed silver, only when it arrived there were two brushed silvers. I had messed up and entered the same item number for both.
2. So, we go silver. Silver vellum, silver stamp pad, silver embossing powder, brushed silver cardstock, even some silver ribbon.
3. Embossing on vellum is possible, but you do have to becareful. I figured out where on the vellum I wanted my silver frame to be. I used the whisper white piece I was going to attach the vellum to as my guide. I stamped the love stamp from Best of Love with silver ink which is also great for embossing as it is slow drying (on vellum it’s almost never dry, even days later so be careful) then powdered with silver embossing and hit it with the heat gun. Here is where you need to be very cautious and hold the heat gun a little further away than you might normally and really keep it moving. If not, you can melt the vellum. The results are totally worth the worry though as it is striking on the see through vellum.
Thanks for stopping by everyone. Hope you have a great week ahead. Lynn To order any of the product in today’s project, click on the images below to be taken directy to my Stampin’ Up! store.
